Земная цивилизация - это игра игр. Й. Хейзинга в последних главах "Homo Ludens", рассуждая о том, в какой мере та или иная область человеческого духа соответствует определению игры, упускает из виду, что сами эти сферы - религия и наука, искусство и политика - не только являются играми по своему характеру и цели, но и исполняют роли отдельных игроков, ведущих между собой нескончаемую партию. Правда, играют при этом каждая по своим правилам - что и хорошо, и плохо: с одной стороны, создает предпосылки для исторических трагедий, с другой же - именно изначальный разнобой игровых уставов способствует постепенной выработке четких универсальных правил. А посему - в итоге побеждает игра игр!
Эта концепция автора отчасти перекликается с тезисом Людвига Витгенштейна о том, что наш язык состоит из множества различных, взаимодействующих между собой языковых игр со своими собственными грамматиками. Так или иначе, а книгу своего избранного русский поэт, проживающий за рубежом, озаглавил анаграммой собственного имени - символизировав тем самым свою уверенность в том, что и в отрыве от метрополии можно собрать себя заново, по буквам, несмотря на весь ущерб, нанесенный иммиграцией.

ABOUT THE BOOK

The human civilization is a game of games. J.Huizinga in the last chapters of his "Homo Ludens" when talking in what measure different areas of human spirit correspond to definition of game, overlooks that these spheres - religion and science, art and politics - not only are games in their character and purpose, but also accept roles of the separate players leading a never-ending game among themselves. However, everyone play by their own rules that turn out to be equally good and bad: on the one hand it creates preconditions for historical tragedies and on the other - initial difference in game rules promotes gradual development of precise universal rules. And therefore the victory of the Game of Games is the inevitable final result!
This author's concept has certain similarities with Ludwig Wittgenstein's thesis stating that our language consists of set of various language games with their own grammar rules cooperating among themselves. Anyhow the book of his selected works the Russian poet living abroad named with the anagram of his own name. In his view it symbolizes his confidence that it is possible to restore yourself letter by letter and become a new person even being separated from the country you were born in and despite of all damage enforced by immigration.
